Following another top-level victory aboard The Fugue in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, he helps Charlie Appleby and Godolphin to take the G1 Middle Park Stakes with Charming Thought shortly before it is announced he has joined the international operation.

The perfect start for William's partnership with Godolphin as he helps Prince Bishop secure the Dubai World Cup, then the richest race on the planet. Finishes second in the Derby at Epsom and then wins the Irish equivalent on Jack Hobbs for John Gosden and Godolphin.

A spectacular season in Godolphin blue. William helps Ribchester to Group 1 glory in the Prix Jacques Le Marois, Wuheida to the Prix Marcel Boussac and wins a second Eclipse, this time on Hawkbill.

Ribchester proves the star of the first part of the year, adding the G1 Lockinge as well as the Queen Anne Stakes, one of William's four winners at Royal Ascot that year. The season ends with William returning from a fractured vertebra to a first Breeders' Cup triumph, via Wuheida.

A major milestone as William claims the race he coveted most, with Godolphin homebred Masar taking the Derby at Epsom. William wins Group 1s in jurisdictions as far afield as Japan, Hong Kong, Dubai and America with collective prize-money earnings of over £5million.

After a brilliant start with two major winners at the Dubai World Cup meeting, William is sidelined for three months during the summer from a fall. Finishes the season with a flourish aboard Godolphin's exceptional two-year-old Pinatubo.

After a flying Dubai Carnival, the season is put on hold by the pandemic. William has a flying summer, collecting blue-chip Group 1s on Ghaiyyath in the Coronation Cup, Eclipse and International Stakes. His achievements are reflected by a second-place finish in the jockeys' championship.

William is named Flat Jockey of the Year for the first time at the Lester Awards. After an incredible late charge, he finishes just two winners behind Oisin Murphy in a title challenge which goes to the final day. His successes include a raft of Group 1s including the Irish Derby and the St Leger. William also marries his long-term partner, Jane Duncan.

An explosive start to the 2025 season with victory in the first two classics of the season, as William lands a second consecutive 2,000 Guineas with victory aboard Ruling Court and his first 1,000 Guineas the following day with Desert Flower.
In July William reaches the incredible milestone of riding his 2000th British winner in the Princess of Wales Stake on El Cordobes at Newmarket.
